FPCI x Körber Stitung - Where Are We Now 70 Years Since the Asian-African Conference? Non-Alignment, Multi-Alignment, and the Role of Middle Powers

FPCI and Körber-Stiftung held a public forum commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, themed “The Asian-African Conference at 70: Non-Alignment, Multi-Alignment, and the Role of Middle Powers.” The event also marked the launch of the Körber-Stiftung Emerging Middle Powers Report 2025, followed by a panel discussion featuring H.E. Nabil Fahmy, Former Foreign Minister of Egypt; Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of FPCI; Amb. Rajiv Bhatia, Distinguished Fellow at Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations, and Dr. Carolien Stolte, Associate Professor of History at Leiden University. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Poppy Sulistyaning Winanti, Distinguished Professor of International Relations at Universitas Gadjah Mada, and opened with remarks by H.E. Arif Havas Oegroseno, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. The forum reflected on the legacy and continued relevance of the Bandung Conference, emphasizing the growing role of middle powers in shaping today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.
