FPCI together with Mr. Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, H.E. Penny Williams PSM, H.E. Armando G. Alvarez, and Mr. Dr. Yayan Ganda Hayat Mulyana are proud to have a Virtual Public Discussion held on May 17, 2023 titled The Role of Middle Powers in a Divided World: What can MIKTA do?’. The discussion talked about how the world faces growing fragmentation—marked by diverging positions between Western and the Global South on the war and rising geopolitical pressure from the U.S.–China rivalry—many nations, especially middle powers, find themselves at a difficult crossroads. In response, middle powers are taking a stage to seek a more active and strategic role in global affairs. One clear sign of this shift is the emergence of new platforms like MIKTA, a flexible coalition of middle powers committed to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and balanced leadership in today’s divided world.
