FPCI together with Amb. Michael Sahlin are proud to have co-organized Virtual Public Discussion held on July 22, 2024 with the title “Punching Above Weight: Turkey’s Middle Power Policy at Strategic Cross-Roads”. This dialogue talked about the shifting of the global world order since the rise of China, particularly for the Global South countries. Definitions of the middle power refer to countries by population, geography, economic, diplomatic, and military strength, and ambition. For nowadays, the world has around two dozen qualified as middle powers, the majority from the Global South. The important thing is that the middle power from the Global South promotes cooperation, inclusiveness, and helps make the multipolar world more stable.
